The Valhalla 46’s custom curved windshield and frame are key to its excellent visibility and clear sightlines from the helm. The console, helm seating modules and forward lounge are all elevated on a 7-inch-high platform, which further optimizes the 360-degree view. Captain Ryan Higgins was busy sea trialing the V-46 for customers and media members this week. Helm visibility is one of the many outstanding attributes of the boat’s performance that he stresses while conducting his demonstrations. The V-46 makes her world premiere at the Viking and Valhalla VIP Boat Show, which starts tomorrow at noon and runs through Saturday at 3 p.m.

A tremendous amount of planning, design and engineering goes into the development of each part on a Valhalla center console. The windshield frame is a prime example. Viking FRP Research and Development Manager Bill Heller (blue shirt) and Manager of New Product Development Bill Hall are shown above in the early stages of the build process overseeing the frame’s production in New Gretna. The part is built utilizing Light Resin Transfer Molding (LRTM). This closed-mold process produces a stronger, lighter and more efficiently built part with an excellent cosmetic finish.

It took dedicated teams of shipwrights at our facilities in both New Gretna and Mullica to build the Valhalla 46, now the flagship of the V Series center console fleet. Above, shipwrights at Viking Mullica complete the installation of the curved windshield of hull No. 1 inside the frame.
