If you like talking boats, here’s a highly customized Valhalla 41 that’s a conversation starter for sure. From her metallic Caribbean Blue exterior and Palm Beach Towers (PBT) marlin tower to her unique cockpit rigging station and inexhaustible tackle storage, the V-41 China Girl has a boatload of features and equipment worthy of discussion.

A metallic Cordova Gold boot stripe and a faux teak transom with custom lettering and graphics add to the boat’s attractive color palette. Powered with triple Yamaha 425s and equipped with Yamaha Helm Master joystick control, she’s both powerful and easy to operate. For transportation convenience, the marlin tower can be folded down and its sunshade is removable. (Note that the undersides of both the PBT hardtop and sunshade match her hull.) The outrigger installation includes a pair of carbon fiber telescoping 22’ poles and an adjustable center rigger with a 12’ carbon fiber pole; a dozen rod holders are welded to the tower’s anodized aluminum frame with another two on the upper helm’s bench seat backrest.

The cockpit, seating and storage modules, console and its interior, and rubrail all feature a custom Oyster White gelcoat. Anchoring the cockpit, the rigging station includes a six-rod Release Marine teak rocket launcher and houses 22 of the boat’s 80-plus Plano tackle boxes. There’s also a faux teak finish on the insulated transom live well’s lid. The owner is a hardcore fisherman, which explains some of the equipment and enhancements that are not on the boat – such as coaming bolsters, forward seat cushions, a Seakeeper and cupholders.

At the helm, the operator has gin-clear visibility through the wraparound ProCurve solid glass enclosure. The Release Marine teak helm pod holds an Edson stainless steel steering wheel. The engine, joystick and trim controls are easily reached, and the trio of 16” Simrad multi-function displays are neatly flush-mounted in the black acrylic helm panel.

The fishing focus continues as you move forward on China Girl. The coamings and console lounge are home to numerous Gemlux stainless steel rod holders. The boat does include its fair share of niceties, such as the forward lounge’s custom upholstery with Diamond/Bentley stitching and a faux teak toerail.
