Valhallas in Key West
The eighth annual Viking Key West Challenge (VKWC) was a smashing success, with 50 boats and more than 500 people attending the three-day event. “The Viking Key West Challenge is an amazing event that just keeps getting bigger and better, with more boats and more people participating every year,” says Viking President and CEO Pat Healey. “It’s now the largest tournament on the island. Key West is really the perfect location where everyone can thoroughly enjoy the boating and fishing lifestyle that we all love.” Valhalla Boatworks has become an important part of the festivities as more owners are discovering the great family fun and fishing camaraderie of the VKWC. Above, the team on the Valhalla 46 Trust Fun shows their spirit. Below, Trust Fun features triple Mercury 600s, a custom Palm Beach Towers gap tower and a host of accessories for live bait fishing.
Valhalla owners aren’t just participating in our Viking Key West Challenge – they’re winning! A big congratulations to the Valhalla 41 Papa’s Pilar, which captured 2nd Place overall and 2nd Place Sailfish Release. In addition, angler Terri Groth took 2nd place in the Top Angler and Top Female Angler categories. Terri also grabbed 2nd Place Kingfish and 2nd Place Sailfish.
The super-sexy Valhalla 41 Baller came out on top in a highly competitive tuna category.
The V-41 Bethie Ree – also a gap tower model – ended up taking 3rd Place Tuna.
It’s not too early to start planning for the 2023 Viking Key West Challenge, which takes place April 12th through the 16th. Mark it on your calendar Valhalla nation!
