History: Founded Upon Building a Better Boat Every Day
Founded in 2019, Valhalla Boatworks extends Viking Yacht Company’s engineering, craftsmanship and attention to detail into the world of high-performance outboard-powered boats. Guided by Viking’s mantra of building a better boat every day, Valhalla combines advanced design, proven construction methods and real-world fishability with the speed and versatility of modern outboard platforms.
What began as a long-standing idea within the company has grown into a fleet of center consoles and sport yachts designed for serious anglers and boating families who demand performance, quality and reliability.

The origins of Valhalla Boatworks go back to the early 2000s. Don Gemmell, a close friend of Patrick Healey and a member of the Viking design team that still exists today, proposed building a Viking-quality outboard center console. In 2003, he developed a business plan for a line of boats from roughly 26 to 34 feet.
The concept remained alive inside Viking for years. Members of the Healey family and the Viking leadership team often discussed what a Viking-built center console should be. When the timing was right, they moved forward with the project.
Created, owned and operated by the Viking Yacht Company, Valhalla blends Viking engineering and construction with the speed and versatility of modern outboard-powered boats. Today the lineup includes seven center consoles from 28 to 55 feet in the V Series along with the Sport Yacht Series, currently the 55 Sport Yacht and the 46 Sport Yacht.

Like the Viking fleet, the Valhalla lineup delivers unmatched performance, engineering, comfort, quality and fishing capability. The V-33, V-37, V-41, V-46 and V-55 center consoles are joined by the 55 Sport Yacht and the new 46 Sport Yacht, which fuse Valhalla’s center console performance with Viking luxury and comfort in an outboard-powered cruising yacht. The V Series center consoles thrive as hard-core fishing boats, fun family sport cruisers or luxury yacht tenders. The recently announced V-28 and V-29 will also provide impressive capability and accommodations.
The V Series is the result of the cooperative effort of the Viking Design and Engineering team and Michael Peters Yacht Design. The boats utilize Michael Peters’ patented Stepped-V Ventilated Tunnel running surface, which reduces drag while increasing speed, stability and efficiency.
The design traits of Viking convertibles can be seen throughout these boats. Proud bows, gently sloping S-shaped sheers, double forward chines, helm pods, raised toe rails and mezzanine seating are among the hallmarks. Viking engineering and mechanical expertise are evident throughout, with customized Seakeeper installations that preserve storage or deck space and mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems designed and built to exceptional standards.
Valhalla Boatworks also benefits from Viking’s vertically integrated resources. Hardtops, marlin or gap towers and electronics packages are designed and installed in-house by experienced shipwrights to ensure turnkey delivery.
Valhalla boats are powered by Mercury or Yamaha outboards in twin, triple or quad configurations depending on the model. The stepped-hull design combined with advanced outboard technology delivers outstanding speed, fuel efficiency and range, while joystick helm control systems and GPS station-keeping simplify operation.

The same company qualities that make Viking the No. 1 boatbuilder in the world and define “The Viking Difference” also carry through to our sister company, Valhalla Boatworks.
In Norse lore, Valhalla is the great hall of the Vikings — a place of honor and reward. For Viking and Valhalla owners, it represents something similar: the culmination of a journey and the beginning of new adventures on the water.
The Vikings of old were pioneers and explorers, always searching for new horizons. That same spirit drives us today as we continue building boats that allow our owners to explore farther and experience more.
Valhalla Boatworks is supported by the same dealer network, service capabilities and customer support that have set Viking apart for decades. Valhalla Yacht Sales operates dedicated showroom and service locations in New Gretna, Brick and Somers Point, New Jersey, and Riviera Beach, Florida, ensuring owners have the full backing of a world-class organization behind every boat.
