The Valhalla 55 is the flagship of the V Series – a major step forward that brings together the performance of a large center console and the comfort of a luxury sportfishing yacht.
“This is a statement boat – and there’s nothing like it,” says Viking Yachts President and CEO Pat Healey. “We’re setting a new standard by bringing together the qualities of a large center console and a luxury sportfishing yacht.”
The V-55 combines speed, maneuverability, 360-degree deck access and outboard performance with the engineering, accommodations and amenities expected from Viking. With a 15-foot, 6-inch beam, the flagship delivers major advantages in cockpit space, fuel capacity, seating and belowdeck comfort.
The V-55 is powered by quad Mercury Verado V12 600s with joystick control and carries 1,211 gallons of gasoline fuel. It rides on the patented Michael Peters Yacht Design Stepped-V Ventilated Tunnel hull, designed to reduce drag while increasing speed, stability and efficiency.
On deck, the V-55 is built for serious fishing and comfortable cruising. Dual 65-gallon transom live wells anchor the cockpit, and port and starboard dive doors give anglers and guests excellent water access. The wide cockpit, large fishboxes, available refrigeration, Hooker Sea Chest system, under-gunwale rod storage and Gemlux hardware make the boat ready for tournament work.
The helm is clean, protected and operator-friendly, with excellent sightlines, a ProCurve glass enclosure, large multifunction displays, Bocatech switching, Edson wheel, Zip-Wake trim control and Mercury joystick. Seating options include Release Marine helm chairs, a second-row lounge or Release Marine seating module, aft-facing mezzanine seating and generous forward seating.
Below, the air-conditioned cabin brings Viking-level comfort to the center console category. The layout includes a galley, dinette, private forward stateroom with queen berth, head with separate shower and additional sleeping accommodations aft. A dedicated machinery room houses critical electrical and mechanical systems, including the 15kW diesel generator, water heater, batteries, chargers and fuel-management components.
The V-55 also benefits from Viking’s vertical integration. Palm Beach Towers can outfit the boat with a custom gap tower, while Atlantic Marine Electronics handles factory-installed Garmin, Simrad, navigation, communication and entertainment packages.
Popular options include Seakeeper SK10, watermaker, bow thruster, teaser reel systems, Gemlux outriggers, Costa Marine sunshades, refrigeration, faux teak accents, custom upholstery and gelcoat packages.
“In every way, this boat goes above and beyond,” says Pat. “We’ve raised the bar in this market segment of 50-plus-foot center consoles by leading in every important aspect for this size and style of boat – fuel capacity, beam, hull design, engineering, equipment, fishability and Viking-yacht accommodation levels.”
